Easter

This is one of my all time favorite pictures. It's hanging on my wall as you come into my house. Rick actually has met Simon Dewey on his mission. We got this from our friends that came from England to visit us awhile back. Thank you soooo much for this beautiful picture.

This is picture is Easter to me. He was resurrected for you and me so that we can be with him and our loved ones someday. All that Our Savior went through for us. This is Easter to me. Yeah we get our kids gifts and paint Easter eggs. I'm guilty of that I'll admit it. Now I know why my mom was so against getting new Easter dress' and candy. But I am just a sucker for letting my kids do the other fun things. My kids are older but they still had a great time doing eggs and getting up to see that they had some candy. Being together as a family is what we did and enjoyed each other. My kids do know the meaning of Easter they don't come out and say it but every once in awhile they do surprise me.

On Friday Our youth from our ward went to the Easter pageant in Mesa at the Temple and came back on Saturday. Myself and Alyssa didn't go because of games (I wish now I would have gone). McKay went and he truly enjoyed it. I was nervous that he wouldn't grasp it and enjoy himself. He had a great time and said "That was an AWESOME Play!!" That just makes me a happy mom that I'm doing something right with my kids.

Then on Sunday our youth did an Easter cantata. Yes I admit I have been a grump about this. My reasons are that our lessons have been cut short every Sunday and for the past few weeks we have done nothing but practice for this and that was our mutual activity. I would like to say WAY TO GO to our youth it turned out amazing. McKay and Alyssa especially did a wonderful job. The boys had speaking parts and sang. The girls sang, piano solos, duets, trios etc.. When we started practicing doing the boys speaking parts McKay was first to go. (You have to understand what a nervous wreck this boy is. He is getting better though). Anyway when we first started practicing he talked so fast the piano player had a hard time keeping up with him. We talked to him and he ended up doing an amazing job. Alyssa played her violin for a duet with her friend and then played it when the girls sand Learn of me. She played the piano for a duet-Jesus was no ordinary man. This cantata had me in tears the whole time. The last song was a tear jerker. All us leaders were in tears at the end. I am so proud of our youth. Brother Warren asked to come into opening and told the girls how proud he was of them. He also said that a man told him that when they were raising there children that they didn't push sports on them but they pushed music. That is what we have been telling our kids. Music will take you farther in life. Enjoy your sports now but they can't take you far.
