Turley Family: Homecoming Week!!

Homecoming week!

This week started out so fun! 1st day was Hobo/Redneck day, so of course I have the 2 biggest rednecks haha. They only did this day & pride day. They didn't like the rest of the days. (Such a boy thing).

On Tuesday I left for the valley to pick up Alyssa from the airport. She flew in from Texas to see Carissa come home from her mission. That was a super long day for both of us. Her flight kept getting delayed. I left from Heber & on the way down to the airport she said she was delayed. Well, I just decided to just go there & wait anyway. Her flight was supposed to be in around 12:30 or so & didn't land until after 3 uhg!!!! Well, she made it at least!!! We stayed in the valley that night & did some shopping :)

Wednesday was a super fun day!! Rick & the boys met us down in the valley & we went to get this sweet missionary from the airport! We were so nervous that her plane would be delayed too. We finally found the spot & waited anxiously!! We kept going to the board to see if it had landed. Noticed that it was landing early. Rick was standing there looking & yelled "THERE SHE IS!!!!" We started getting so excited! Of course Carissa started crying! Her mom, Grandma Jane, Aunt Lindsey & her husband were at the airport also. We hugged & cried of course. She got to McKay & was like "wait I can't do this!!" Oh well they hugged anyways!! haha We are all family!

We got her luggage & went to lunch all together & poor Carissa was in so much shock the whole time. At Panda she told the boys & Alyssa to give a pass along card to someone.

Carissa drove to Payson with us then the rest of the way with her family. We made a sign for the house for FHE that week & got her a flag for her homecoming.

President Whipple had called me to let me know that he couldn't release her until late that night & to go to Mighty Man to enjoy herself. Well, she was in shock the whole time. We told her to just stick her hand out so people wouldn't hug her. There were a couple of boys from HS she knew that tried to hug her & didn't understand the whole no hugging thing. Alyssa was her companion for the day haha. When Carissa needed to go to the bathroom Alyssa had to tag along. What a fun day.

Mighty Man was a great night for the boys. Barr & McKay both played this year. Barr missed last year because of hunting. He was so excited for this year to play.

Seniors beat everyone again this year to play the teachers for the championship this year.

Seniors beat the teachers!! This was the 1st time in 11 years that the teachers were beat. Last year McKay's class played the teachers for championship but lost. But they pulled out a big win this year. This is the funnest thing ever to watch!!

Thursday night I was at Makenzie's softball game & get a call from McKay. "Mom Ash Fork isn't coming to play football tomorrow!" What the heck????? This is Homecoming!! No game is no fun!! Poor boys!!
The school called & said that they would do an assembly to announce royalty Friday so we went to the school. Barr & McKay were both nominated for there classes. Both lost but that is ok with them! They got a candy bar haha that's what matters!

Since there was no game the boys text me that day to say that they wanted to do there dates that night. McKay said that him Reed & Jaden needed the house to make pizza's and then have pictures. So all of us decided why not make a fun backdrop with props. We got busy & made a back drop for them.
Barr took Rebekah Whipple & doubled with Jordan McLaws & Jessica Reidhead. They took a grill to the woods & grilled steaks with potatoes. Then they came back for pictures afterwards.
McKay took Ally Crandell, Jaden took Silke (foreign exchange student) Reed took Aubrey Anderson. They made pizza's on the grill & then had pictures. Some of the moms came to get the pictures too.

So these boys were having too much fun taking pictures that night as you can see!! Glad they could have some fun after not getting a dang football game!
