Our October

Oh what a month this was and this is a post for ALL of October:
First McKay finished football and what a season it was. The team did really good. McKay played alot this year and got more aggressive. The last game they let him kick off and they were amazed at how well he did (we were too). Keep it up McKay!!

But now he is onto wrestling along with Barr. McKay is wrestling 1st string and Barr is 2nd String unless he ends up beating someone out. Anyway McKay had a tournament in Heber, the Mogollon Invitational. He is trying alot harder this year than he did last year. He took 3rd place (he had 2 bys, but that is o.k.) He got a medal and was sooo excited. He has been lifting weights more and really wants to do well.

Alyssa:

She finished JV volleyball and the team did amazing. They played so good and won alot of there game especially to Jo City you know that one counts the most. Now she has been practicing with the Varsity and went to Regionals with them. Now she is off to State. I should mention that she won't be playing just taking stats. She has a good attitude about it and loves to be there. Alyssa was also the captain of the JV team. We are proud of her for her accomplishments and her attitude.
Also this month our ward had Young Women in Excellence. Our girls put on a skit about "What I learned in Young Womens." They all dressed as "School Girls" and they did an awesome job. Alyssa just looked so darn cute too. For her 10 hour project she decorated or re-decorated her room all by herself. She put a dark brown stripe on the wall and then painted some cute pictures pink and brown. She also covered some pillows in pink with brown dots. That is what she showed off. Her room is soooo cute too.

This picture is of most of the girls.

Then to Barr:

He is in wrestling as I mentioned above. He needs to try a little harder this year. He is intimidated that he is wrestling boys that are in 7th and 8th grade. So Rick told him to get mean and act like the opponent is McKay (cause they hate each other, brothers). Then our neighbors the Johnsons (Shane) was a wrestler for St. Johns and he told Barr that he would give him some pointers. So for scouts they went and did pull ups, sit ups, and all kinds of exsercises. Maybe he will get aggressive one day and we will all be shocked.

Then for halloween Barr wanted to be "Larry Fitzgerald." We borrowed a helmut from the Johnsons put some black yarn out the back. He put on Rick's "Down Under Bowl" jersy and we put a fake beard and mustache on him. I thought he looked awesome and he loved it.

Then onto Halloween night. Alyssa was at Regionals, Barr went with the Ballesteros' trick or treating and McKay and some friends went goofing around. When Rick got home the doorbell rang and nobody there. Then there was a knock at the back door. Oh I see how you people want to be. I went out the back and down the side of the house and hear McKay, Reed Hancock and Baylend Stephens. So I wait and then they came around where I was. I screamed and waived my arms and Baylend Stephens went white and couldn't speak. He ended up running off so I said "Baylend did you mess your pants?" He did come in and say Sister Turley that wasn't funny. I thought so!!

Well, later that night I went to get Alyssa at the school and as I was leaving there was this wood on my porch. Dumb boys I thought. They want me to think that there is a man at my front door. Then I get a text from Nicole about what I was doing. I told her that I was going to get Alyssa and these dumb boys put this wood there. She replies "Wood huh, funny." I get Alyssa and we are headed home and parked in the garage and as I get out of my car this guy jumps up behind my other car and scares the CRAP out of me. It was the Johnson's that put the dang wood there. They were standing at the side of the house when I left. Dang them I will get you back. What fun neighbors I have.
