Wrestling

Wow what a season for wrestling it was. Glad it's over, I don't really like this sport. But I did survive. McKay wrestled 1st string for the 2nd year in a row. He did so so so much better this year. He beat alot of kids this season, even weighing 6 pounds under everyone he wrestled. He got alot more aggressive this year. The one thing that I really didn't like was that McKay wouldn't eat and is funny about what I would put in his lunch. Oh brother, wrestling I guess.

McKay made it to Regional's in Round Valley Dec. 5th. He went in as 4th sead and was so dang excited but nervous at the same time. He did really well but didn't go very far. His 1st match was against Winslow and he beat the kid. But when he saw who he would be wrestling it was a different kid. He got so nervous. I think I was a wreck after that match. This kid from Winslow was a big kid but McKay held his own. I was in the bleachers and then I was right there by the mat like a nervous wreck. Marshall & Robyn were there cheering him on. Marshall would try to yell out moves. They were both getting point and then they called a Technical on McKay for locking his hands and gave the other guy more points. Marshall was telling me how impressed he was at how well he was doing. Well, McKay lost 8-10. He was so discouraged and upset. Then he went on to wrestle a guy from Blue Ridge. Well, those boys are very good. He beat McKay by a pin. Darn, he really wanted to place in this tournament but that is how it goes. I had the worst stomach ache after this was over. So, yes I'm glad wrestling is OVER!!

Barr wrestled 2nd string. He did really well also. He did want to be 1st string but he wasn't just aggressive enough. He gets an attitude at home but he was just such a nice guy at the practices. We just keep telling him to get mad and it will come with time. I'm proud of these boys and doing so well. Good Job McKay and Barr!!!
