St. George Trip!!

On our Anniversary Rick woke up before 6 AM freaking out!!  "Oh crap my alarm didn't go off, I am going to be late to work!!"  I was like just get in the car & go to work.  "You have to take me!"  No I have a dentist appointment @ 9:30 in Snowflake.  Well he keeps running around freaking out. Finally he just yells out "Well then pack a bag right now we have to go!"  What go where? I have to go to the dentist.

Well Rick surprised me and took me on a trip to St. George to see Mary Poppins @ Tuacahn Theatre.  OH MY HECK!!! That was the best surprise ever!!

On our way there I had no idea where we were going.  I knew it wasn't flying because Rick is terrified.  So we headed towards Flagstaff so I'm thinking Vegas or Cali.  Wrong!!  We took the turn towards Page.  So then I was like Durango or Manti.  But wait the Manti pageant was in June.  So I was totally lost.  We headed towards Colorado City & Rick said "this is where we are going to pick up another wife hahahaha.  He wouldn't budge on anything.  Do I need to get looking for a motel? Did I pack appropriately?  He wouldn't budge.  Then we got to the St. George, Cedar City turn!!  Oh heck we are going to St. George.

He had a motel booked, tickets to Mary Poppins booked through the motel to get a discount.  What a proud wife I was to here that he bargain shopped!!

We just vegged out at the motel the first night we were tired from driving.  The next day we hit the church sites like the Tabernacle, & Brigham Young's winter home.  There was a sister Missionary there and brought a tear to my eye to see her.  Seeing her serve like Carissa is doing is the best.  Found out she is from Mesa & her parents have a cabin in Heber.

We decided that since it was our anniversary that we would go to the "Starlight Express" also @ Tuacahn which was amazing!!.  The theatre is up against a canyon wall and they would shoot fireworks off at the end of the show.  Funny story about this play.  We got there & sitting in our seats.  Rick nudges me, "Do you know who that is right there?" Um No!!  It's Cecil O. Samuelson.  So we googled him & it was him.  I took a picture when he wasn't looking right our way but can't get it off my phone.  Rick wanted to go talk to him but chickened out. Side note this show was in 3-D some of the time so we took a goofy picture but on my dang phone.

We headed to the St. George Temple which is amazing!!  Knowing that this is one of the 1st built temples and I went through a session in it.

The last night we were there we headed back to the Tabernacle where they have performances on Friday nights.  The Missionaries said it was to be oh so good.  Well, I don't think Rick saw that it was a Celtic wood band.  So me being the good wife I am said sure let's go but we have to leave @ 8 to get to Mary Poppins.  Well, we left early it was not that good haha it sounded like the same song over and over.  Sorry not a big Irish song fan.

Mary Poppins was AMAZING!!!!  The way they did this show was so well done.  I loved how some of it was changed even to make it a Broadway show.  The actors were amazing the singing was amazing.  The little boy is a 1st grader & he was awesome!!  If it was playing on Saturday night I would have had Rick stay another night to go again.

The night before we had some obnoxious people behind us that (thought) they knew everything about Broadway.  Anyway on lady said I hated Mary Poppins.  She is just flat crazy!!!

I was so shocked that Rick pulled this off without me finding out.  He did a great job for our 21st Anniversary.  Here is to many more years. Love him so much :)
