January!!

Wow what a January we had!!! January started out good not much going on then WHAM!! We get this storm. January 18th we had no school because of MLK day. Tues. the 19th we got a little bit of snow so we had a 2 hour delay. Well the morning of the 20th @ 12:30 in the morning I'm SOUND asleep. Rick comes in "Corie get out of bed there is a fire." Holy Cow I'm out of that bed so fast "Where is the fire?" Our big tree in our back yard is on fire. Rick had woken up to whistling and then lights in the backyard. He thought someone was in our backyard. That's when he noticed the tree. Anyway back to my story. The power lines were weighed down with snow and hit the tree and caught this big branch on fire. Yes, my big pretty tree!!!! Well there were sparks everywhere. I was so scared that the sparks would get on our wood fence or on the Johnson's house next door. So, I told Rick what do we do, who do we call? We don't call 911, Shane moved who worked for Navopache Electric. We called the 1-800 # in Pinetop. It was Dave Skousen. He told Rick there isn't much the guys could do there was a fire in Tenney ville. Well, so Rick goes back to bed. Me, of course I can't now so I got dressed walked out in the dang snow and watched it so it didn't catch anything on fire. Luckily it wasn't terrible bad. Just hope this spring that my tree is O.K. That morning no school!!! Are you kidding me they could have had a 2 hour delay the roads were clear around 10 A.M. So then on the 21st no school again still snowing but later on Thurs. it just rained ALL day long. Which, might have been a good thing we would have so much snow. That night we get a call from the school no snow tomorrow a huge storm was to be coming in. Yes, we got a lot of snow. We ended up with probably 2-2 1/2 feet. My driveway is a mess and a mess to get out of. Saturday me and McKay tried to get it plowed so we could get out. Well, I got both my cars stuck and Rick had the car at work. Well, let's just say I can't wait for the snow to go away then I have yucky mud UHG!!!!
