What a day!!! The 7th grade boys & girls were invited to a tournament in Tonto Basin yesterday. They both ended up winning 1st place. Marshall is the boys coach but he went to Tylers regional tournament in Williams so he asked Rick to coach the boys. What a day it was to...
1st the girls played against 1 of the Payson teams (They had 2 girls teams). They are behind at the half 0-9. Not thinking they would come back, they did and won the game by 1 point. Then the boys played Pine-Strawberry. They had some really tall boys playing. Our boys were pretty worried. We pulled it out and won that game. So now, both boys and girls are playing for championship. Boys played Payson. They have already played them and won. So, you know there coaches are ready for our boys. Started the game and it was tied up all through til half. The Payson coaches are getting pretty wound up and calling things on us. Well, we came back and stayed ahead at beat them like we did before and took 1st place!!
Girls turn to play the other Payson team. We watched them play earlier and they had this really tall girl. Our girls were getting nervous. They went in and stayed right up with them. The boys were outside playing so we made the boys come in and cheer for them. That boosted there spirits. That big girl from Payson got shut down from our girls. She couldn't make many baskets. Wow what an intense game. We were all on our chairs for this game. Payson was ahead then we came back in the end and won again by 1 point. These boys are so funny they all ran out on the court to congratulate.
These kids are sucha fun group to be around. They all get along so well. We never had a problem with them not getting along. They are a very close group of kids. Proud of our Mustangs for taking the CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

Way to go Mustangs!!!!! Hunter's on the Blue Ridge 7th grade team. We are doing pretty good too. We play Joseph City on Thursday, wish us luck!1!
