Yahoo!!! Barr finally got an Elk!!
Barr had a tag last year but just couldn't ever get a shot on one. He looked and looked every day last year.
Well, Barr got drawn this year and he has been so excited to get to go hunting with his dad.
Barr, Rick, & Grandpa Turley went out on Friday October 15th the first day and even missed the big Mogollon-Jo City game. Barr wanted so bad to get an elk this year.
Friday no luck at all. They saw Bulls & Deer and that's it. Saturday they took off early again. They called me and still no luck. They saw some but just couldn't get a shot. They waited until afternoon and went back out. This time McKay went out with them. They said they called in a couple of Bull's screaming!! Barr, and McKay said that was the best thing ever. Anyway, they were calling these bulls to see if they could get some cows to come in. The bull's came in so close that they could see their breath. Then here comes some cow's. Barr took 1 shot and got it!!!!

I was in St. Johns visiting my friends Nicole and got a call. When I answered Barr was excitedly yelling "I took one shot and got it" I couldn't have been prouder of him.
Congrats to Barr on your 1st elk. Now onto Deer!! Good Luck Barr :)
