Turley Family: Elder Turley

On March 7, 2015 the mail delivered an exciting letter to our box!

We were told that he probably would have his call until the next week or possibly the week after. Well to our surprise it came!!

I had seen on Facebook that Amber Reidhead's son (Who is McKay's friend) Dallyn got his call that day. I told McKay to run to the PO to see if it had possibly come in. I got the "Oh my stop it's not going to be there don't worry about it!" Well, me & Rick decided that we hadn't been on a date in awhile so we decided to go to Payson. We got by the PO & Rick was like just check for fun. I opened the box & freaked out!!! I ran to call McKay & he thought I was tricking him. He came down & I think it kind of scared him! Him being the usual dork he is hahaha

Well we were like we need you to open this up TONIGHT!!! McKay was not at all ready to open it either. I think he needed time to process what was going on. Plus he had in his head that it was coming the next week. Well, we started texting family & asking McKay if he was sure he wanted to wait. This stinker wanted to wait until Monday night. We said oh heck no you are opening it tomorrow!!

We got home from Payson that night & noticed that he had been picking at the envelope. We said we can just do it now!!! No he wanted to wait

So at 7 on March 8th after we finally got everyone settled & got Alyssa, Cache & Carissa on face time McKay opened his call. This was seriously one of the hardest but best nights of my life to see my son getting ready to go on a mission.

He opened it (yes I'm a sucky mother I got so nervous that the recording on my phone didn't work I accidently hit pause) & He looked right at me & Rick with a shocked look on his face. We both thought oh yeah he's going to Tahiti like he wanted to (Rick's grandpa Turley went there then back years later both grandpa & grandma Turley there) then he started reading & read

Elder Turley you are hereby called to serve in the Michigan, Lansing Mission

Oh my goodness YEAH he's stateside!! Later we found out why McKay gave us that weird look, he saw "sing" & thought crap Japan hahaha

McKay did not want to learn a language but did want to go to Tahiti or to England where Rick went.

I know Michigan is where he is supposed to serve & I am so excited, nervous, anxious etc. about this.

June 17th McKay will be entering the MTC to serve the Lord & the people of Michigan. I am such a proud mother!
