Prom 2014
I told McKay he had to get on the ball this year & ask early not like last year the week of Prom. So he asked Reed to take a date & they would double. McKay asked Jennifer Maner & Reed asked Jessica Reidhead.
We had an empty vacuum box so I told him to use that box to ask her. We decorated the box up & put balloons in the box so when she opened the box the balloons would come out. So he put "it would suck if you didn't go to prom with me" pretty catchy huh haha. McKay likes to get all dressed up so we went thrift shopping & found his suit for $8 & came with 2 pair of pants. My mom had to lengthen the pants & probably won't be able to wear that suit again cause to snug but dang $8!! I rented the vest & tie from Lisa Alt in Show Low. She was so shocked at the color. She was like "Corie I hope you know what color you ordered???" She turned it around & I said yep that's the color haha. Alyssa had worn this same dress her Senior year so I knew the green.
They went fishing that day & didn't catch anything but had fun & ate pizza. Later they waited for the girls to get ready & had dinner at our house. I decorated up the Living Room with Alyssa's wedding stuff & made a cute banner. Barr was a champ & dressed up in his hot pink bow tie & suspenders & was the waiter for the night. He would tell jokes everytime he would go into check on them. Barr had a great time doing this & said "dang I can't wait until next year when I can go to prom!" (Sad mom). Then they headed to the dance where I went to see the kids & see the promenade they do every year which is so fun. Then I get to see the royalty named. McKay was nominated but didn't win :( which is ok with him haha. They went to Hancocks after to have dessert.
