Way to go MUSTANGS!!

Our softball team went to Winslow this weekend for a tournament. On Friday we played Snowflake and lost. Then we played Monument Valley won 8-6 Alyssa pitched the whole game and struck 6 or 7 out. Then onto Chinle won (can't remember score) she pitched part of the game and struck 3 out. Those 2 wins put us in the Championship bracket. So now onto play Winslow right after playing Chinle, holy cow they are good. The pitcher was amazing. Now that we lost that game we played on Sat. against Sanagua from Flagstaff and got beat 9-2, Alyssa pitched a little bit and didn't strike anyone out but they didn't hit real good off of her either. Now we are playing for 7th or 8th place. Alyssa pitched the whole game against Chino Valley. She didn't get any strike outs that I can remeber but only walked one girl in the whole tournament this weekend. We won 4-1 what an awesome game that was. Coach Whitmer was so dang proud of her. For a Freshmen what a great experience this was to get to pitch in this tournament. He said "Hey girl you were pitching against 3A schools and you held in there." He gave Alyssa a big squeeze and was extatic about the win. Out of 16 teams there Mogollon and Jo City were the only 1A schools there. They were all 3A and one 5A school from Vegas. That is very impressive to me. Congratulation to the Mustangs and keep up throughout the season starting after Spring Break.
